RE-PRINT FROM NEWS1130

The post below taken from the News1130 website, I think sums up why its not acceptable to keep poor people living in decrepit and dangerous conditions. Placing poor people in fire-traps as PIVOT and other stupid activists want to do, is an absolute affront to humanity and this demonstrates again why PIVOT and others activists should be ashamed -- JLH

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The fire exits are boarded up, there are holes in the walls, and there are missing smoke alarms and door handles. These are just some of the reasons why the city of Vancouver says it's shutting down a Downtown Eastside hotel, effective today.

While the city says most of the tenants left in the Picadilly have been successfully relocated, Anna Hunter with the Anti-Poverty Committee says they were evicted illegally. She says the landlord illegally changed the locks and told the tenants they had to leave immediately.
Hunter claims one tenant wasn't even allowed to gather his belongings. The city says the owners of the hotel were given months to fix things up but failed to do so.
